Burnley Vs Tottenham – Tottenham Hotspur were expected to easily defeat LASK at home on Thursday, but there were plenty of positives to take away from the Europa League victory. The recovery from last weekend’s meltdown was important to watch, as was the team’s ability to win comfortably with a rotating team, especially without relying on Harry Kane.
Burnley Vs Tottenham
Tottenham went wild in last season’s home game against Burnley, with a 5-0 win highlighted by Heung-min Son’s goal of the season. Turf Moor’s journey was less impressive, however, as it ended in a 1-1 draw, with Dele Alli scoring a penalty after Erik Lamela was fouled in the box shortly after half-time.
Burnley 1 0 Tottenham Hotspur: *fart Noise*
The Clarets have really struggled to open the year, losing their first three Premier League games before drawing 0-0 against West Brom last weekend. They have scored only three league goals so far and should provide a good opportunity for Spurs to assert their dominance. There have been plenty of bright spots for Tottenham so far, but now is the time to start putting them all together.

After back-to-back wins over Mora, Aston Villa and Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur looks to be heading in the right direction after some nasty defeats. Instead, a completely changed team lost to Witsey in the Netherlands on Thursday, only for the rest of the first team to fall 1-0 to West Ham at the weekend.
At this point it’s fair to say that the Spurs are who they are. This is a team that will compete for a place in the European table and have a chance at several cups, but it appears to be less than the sum of its parts. The top XI looks great on paper and the depth is good, but neither unit is anywhere near consistent this season.
Expect the Reserves to get another chance with another midweek game. Perhaps some regulars will start against Burnley in the fourth round of the League Cup, but Nuno Espirito Santo seems to have found his ideal line-up now and is likely to bounce back when Manchester United visit the city on Saturday. as cool as possible. Honestly, backup should be able to get these connections anyway.
Harry Kane Hits Brilliant Hat Trick As Spurs Canter To Victory At Burnley
Burnley have been through a terrible time this season, picking up one league win so far and seriously facing relegation. It’s not as good a defense as some of the previous versions and the scores were pretty low. Although there are plenty of similar issues from Tottenham’s perspective, especially starting with an unlikely second unit, the hosts have had very poor flight quality this season.
Spurs advanced from the third round on penalties after a 2-2 draw against Wolves. The team changed slightly but featured regulars like Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele. Meanwhile, Burnley lost to Newcastle on penalties in the second round and were sent to League Two side Rochdale last month. L – L – L – W – L – L Tottenham Hotspur have picked up just three points in their last six Premier League games, scoring a total of four goals. It always seems too early to give up a Champions League spot, but with so many teams vying for fourth place, it seems like this team doesn’t have the ability to climb back up the table.
This internal collapse came at a time when the club’s chances in the Europa League are improving. The quality of the competition is obviously a big reason for this, but the round of 16 produced another decent draw for Spurs, so while the troubles in the league continue, trophy chances remain alive on two other fronts.

Burnley aren’t very good, although that doesn’t seem to make any difference to Tottenham. The two teams nearly drew to a draw at Turf Moor in October, but a late Heing-Man header, assisted by a Harry Kane header, gave Spurs a 0–1 win and marked their best run of the season.
Those days are long gone. Spurs must find a way to revive, and that means how to score, as the defense remains flawed. Unfortunately, Burnley are as ruthless in front of the net as ever and are unlikely to allow too many chances on Sunday. At this point it seems silly to expect anything other than disappointment.

The match wire rules are the same as always. For first time visitors, welcome! We are glad that you are here! Wash your feet, watch out for spaces, and be sure to check out the other pages on this great site. While you’re here, though, we’ve got a few rules and regulations – the same old story seemed to play out when Leeds United took a 1-0 lead before half-time last week. Tottenham Hotspur looked less motivated and energetic than the home team, and Antonio Conte appeared to be headed for his first loss in charge of his new club. However, in the second 45 minutes there was a big difference, as Spurs got a deserved equalizer and a winner.
Let’s hope some positivity washes over the weekend. Clearly the performance did not carry over to the midweek trip to Slovenia, as a somewhat better starting XI looked listless in a humiliating 2-1 defeat against Mora. Spurs will have to ignore that and now concentrate on a Burnley team they already ousted at this park just 32 days ago.
The League Cup victory was Nuno Espirito Santo’s last in charge: he was sacked a few days later. A close match at Turf Moor was won by a Lucas Moura header from an Emerson Royal cross to make it 0–1. Changes in leadership since then have brought hope back to North London, but clearly there is still plenty of room for growth.
Tottenham Vs Burnley Highlights: Harry Kane Penalty Puts Spurs Above Arsenal In Premier League
Last weekend we saw two potential goalscorers in Pierre-Emile Hodgeburg and Sergio Reguillon, but perhaps their contributions speak to how Conte is already making an impact. ReguillĂłn and Royal are key to this system, and the full-backs have a significant presence in the opposition box, something you don’t see often with Nuno.
Burnley sit near the bottom of the league in goals allowed and xGA so there are some opportunities. Harry Kane scored Tottenham’s only goal against Mora and the team really needs a striker to get going. Crystal Palace scored three goals against the Clarets last week, which is an encouraging sign for the visitors.
The other side of the pitch was not much better for Burnley. While the club have won more league titles than Spurs this season, Tottenham’s defense has held up well in the League Cup. Cristian Romero’s injury is a shame, but whoever forms the back three should be able to stop this pedestrian attack.
