Hearts Vs Motherwell – Kevin Clancy has been told he has received two red card consequences from today’s Hearts v Motherwell clash by the Sportscene panel.

Andy Halliday’s brace put Robbie Nielsen’s side 2-0 up despite a poor performance but Louis Molt and Blair Spittle did well.

Lawrence Shankland grabbed the equalizer for Hearts after Sondre Solholm Johansson was penalized for a foul on the ball.
However, in a review, editors Richard Foster and Michael Stewart stated that Clancy’s campaign was not the only one that posted real money.
Along with Motherwell boss Steven Hammel, they think Craig Gordon should have seen red when he brought down Moult in the area.
But since Gordon’s late suspension had already been booked, the panel felt he was lucky to stay on the pitch.

βI know the ball is going away from the goal and the defenders are there – but he catches it.
“It’s a penalty and if you come into the box and you try to go for the ball, that’s it, it’s a yellow card.”
“I think he was lucky to get away without a yellow card there but as I explained, I think it was difficult to give him the first yellow card.”
Hearts manager Neilson was furious at the call for midfielder Grant to be taken off in the first half.

On Grant’s challenge, Stewart said: “Look, you can see that Kevin Clancy understands the challenge very well.
βHe’s short, he’s not tall, I think a yellow card is enough because he’s not tall.
“I can understand why the referee gave it. Looking at it in VAR, was it a mistake? Probably not. But the right call for me was to give him a yellow card and a single yellow.

Third place moved the Edinburgh giants high up the Premiership table, a position Motherwell also offered before kick-off.
Hearts Further Adrift At The Bottom As Motherwell Make A Point
Goals from a Laurence Shankland and Alan Forrest double kept the Jambos home and dry, but it wasn’t a game that completely finished off Motherwell.
The team had chances in the first half, and Paul McGinn scored a try, and Kevin van Veen did the same before the break.
Motherwell hit the post twice in quick succession through Blair Spittle and Paul McGinn, before Hearts wrapped up the points with a fine finish from Alan Forrest five minutes after the break.
Shankland scored in the 18th minute to give Hearts a narrow lead. A long ball over the top picked out Ricky Lammy and was straight into the path of the striker, who buried the rebound after Liam Kelly’s half volley was well blocked.

Similarly, Motherwell started the second half the better side, but Shankland’s break allowed Forest to curl a low shot into the bottom left corner on 50 minutes, and it looked like the three points were gone.
The hosts had the ball in the net through Kevin van Veen, but Hard fell to the flag, and Matt Penney’s cross was beaten away late on.
But Forest added their second and Hearts’ third in the last minute to put the result beyond doubt.
Motherwell manager Stevie Hammell made one change from the side that drew 0-0 with Dundee United here two weeks ago, with Barry Maguire coming on for Callum Slattery.

Hearts manager Robbie Nielsen made three changes to his line-up from the 2-0 win over RFS in the Europa Conference League on Thursday evening. New signings Orestis Kiomortzoglou, Alan Forrest and Lewis Nielsen came in for Craig Halkett, George Grant and Josh Ginnelli.
Motherwell started strongly and almost opened the scoring inside four minutes, but Ross Tierney curled his low effort inches wide of the left post.
Hearts made a good move two minutes later, Andy Halliday slipping inside Shankland, but a brilliant save by Ricky Lammy ended the danger.
Shankland tried again on 10 minutes but saw his shot go wide of the left-hand post to Liam Kelly, but Barry McKay’s corner was to no avail.

There wasn’t much between the teams but Hearts took the lead in the 18th minute when a loose ball found Lammy and he shot past Shankland.
His first effort was well saved by Kelly, who was unable to do anything as the Dundee United forward buried the rebound.
The visitors had a chance to double their lead inside 21 minutes when a long ball released Alan Forrest, but as soon as he controlled it, the former Livingston star made it four. It’s still open and can’t get a connection to bother Kelly.
Blair Spittal raced down the left on 24 minutes and cut inside to create a chance for himself, but his shot went wide from the right corner.

Motherwell should have gone ahead a minute later when Aarons flicked the ball into the path of Paul McGinn, but he did well.
It was a bit quiet for Hearts at the time but Forest got a goal back in the 38th minute, only for Kelly to make a smart save.
Van Veen made a run down the left in the 44th minute but sent his shot over the bar from just inside the box.
Motherwell were forced to replace Aarons with Stuart McKinstry in the first half, after he went off with a leg injury.
Hearts Beat Motherwell 3 2
The teams should have leveled on 47 minutes when McKinstry’s cross from the left found Spittle, whose header hit the left post, McGinn hit the right post in the follow-up, and Gordon piled over.
Hearts had a chance to claw back the deficit on 63 minutes when Forrest let Shankland down the right and block his path, but he put it over.
Sean Goss’ effort went wide of the left post on 82 minutes as Motherwell found a way back into the game.
Penney came close to pulling a goal back in the 84th minute when he let fly a rocket from 25 yards that was good enough for Gordon to blast into the top right corner, leaving him injured in the process.
