Southampton Vs Newcastle: How To Watch 2023 Carabao Cup Semi Live
7 – Pope: Under Southampton is the bane of his existence. His last two goals were scored against the Saints. Not much can be done to stop Che Adams’ strike. Strong expectations and measures to prevent Armstrong.
7.5 – Trippier: Showed determination throughout with the ball at his feet. It’s rare to see a player who reads the game so well on offense and defense. There is no doubt that he is one of the best right backs in the world right now.
6.5 – Schar: The Swiss defender doesn’t expect to get the ball across the field. Had a few bad passes but that confidence meant everything. Be strong and safe.
8 – Longstaff: He got into a terrible situation week in and week out. It was good to see him put the ball in the net. We hope it runs as fast as it did today.
Newcastle To Visit Southampton, Host Them Later In Carabao Cup Semi Final
6 – Bruno: He was clever with his dribbling and thinking in his passing in the first half. He helped build two escape routes. He will no doubt be disappointed in himself with the way his second half turned out. He would likely have been the man of the match if the game had ended at half-time despite Longstaff scoring twice. It will be a big loss in the next three games.
7 – Willock: It is said that he is not a natural winger. You can’t tell by looking at him because he runs fast and has a good link digging down the left side. It was solid except for a messy pass that led to a goal against the run of play.
(Sub) 6 – Murphy: Brought in to make a change and removed to avoid wasting time. Do exactly that. Not much about that.
7 – Joelinton: Many, including myself, have asked Howe to restart ASM from scratch. Howe’s desire to break the Joelinton-Willock run was evident in the first half tonight. Their relationship is the source of the second goal and is strong on both sides of the field.
